Steam engines really get my attention because of the power and massive machines that demonstrate great engineering. A eight foot diameter wheel of steel has to be impressive. I tried to use the lighting and color to emphasize both strength and mass. There is steel, fittings, grease, and giant bolts that combine to hold my attention and curiosity.

Finally Back!
I am finally back to posting. I have been away from this to long and it is time to update a few things about what I have been doing with my photo work. I have had a lot of things that have kept me busy including moving that included selling and buying houses and all the things associated with this adventure. Now it is time to concentrate on some serious photo work.
I have recently bought a new camera and I received a great new lens for a Solstice gift and the photo I have posted is a "get acquainted" shot. Not to bad for a quick hand-held shot. Since I am a bit shaky with the camera off the tripod the VR feature really helps me when I need a quick on-the-fly shot. This photo was from my new Nikon D5100 with a Tamaron 18 to 270 zoom.
